Amendments to COVID-Safe Industry Plan & Events Framework

The Queensland Government has made further amendments to the restrictions on businesses and activities relevant to the tourism and events industry.

These changes have taken immediate effect and include:

  • Any food or drinks sold at the venue/event must be consumed sitting down. Guests cannot buy food or drinks and walk around consuming them, they need to be seated. This applies to all venues, indoor and outdoor events.
  • Indoor or outdoor events with more than 500 patrons, who would follow a site-specific or industry plan, are now required to advise the PHU of their event 10 days prior to the event taking place.

Both updated plans will be available soon.

QTIC continues to work with Queensland Health and the Department of State Development, Tourism and Innovation to deliver and further develop these plans to suit the changing conditions.
