Gold Coast Airport increased flights

Effective from 01 December, in line with the Queensland Borders opening to Victoria and all of NSW, the Gold Coast Airport has seen an increase in flights.

After eight months of significantly low capacity, the Gold Coast Airport is delighted to finally welcome back a strong capacity from Sydney and Melbourne. This will be the top two busiest routes in the country for Jetstar this month.  There was certainly a lot of excitement and happy tears in the terminal yesterday as people reunited after months apart and were welcomed by many of our fabulous tourism destination stakeholders. This was a great reminder about why the Gold Coast is Australia’s favourite playground and the Northern Rivers is gaining domestic visitation. In addition to this, Jetstar also recommenced services to and from Perth and began a new route to Hobart.

Below is a snapshot of this week’s schedule and how it is building as we head into the Christmas peak. Please keep in mind this is still an evolving landscape with more flights being added as demand continues to increase:

Looking ahead, the Gold Coast Airport will continue to build a sustainable domestic schedule and collaborate with their airline partners on potential international routes in line with the timelines the Australian Government is working towards with other countries.

The Chamber wishes the Airport all success in the coming year.
