Take Care: The message from the south

Cr Gail O'Neill has teamed with Theory to create a lasting reminder of the COVID-19 crisis and to celebrate how the Southern Gold Coast and border communities have pulled together to navigate the pandemic.

On the 1st of October, Chief Lifeguard Warren Young, Senior Lifeguard Scott Franzman and Local Councillor Gail O'Neill announced their latest community project alongside the John Cunningham Lifeguard Centre. Teaming up with 'Theory', a brand focussed design agency, the group proudly announced a mural to capture a lasting reminder of the COVID-19 crisis and to celebrate how the Southern Gold Coast and border communities have pulled together to navigate the pandemic.

Theory has said the design will have the power to affect positive change and will appeal to all residents with a community-centric message. The design installation, known as TogetherGC,  is set to appear throughout the city in the hopes it will spark a moment of positivity. The success of the campaign, thus far, has been largely due to the support of Southern Gold Coast businesses; appearing in cafes, shops and restaurants across the southern GC.  A welcome change to the next step forward.
