Queensland Small Business Month (QSBM) starts next week, providing a chance to network, connect and learn new skills that can empower you and your business. This year QSBM (from May 1 to 31) has a “love your local” theme and highlights the importance of the 473,000 small businesses that account for 97 per cent of all businesses in Queensland.

Help us to celebrate our small businesses and the vital contribution they make to Queensland’s economy and to our communities across the state. Register for a QSBM2023 event today!

Support to Grow your Business Webinar

The Support to Grow your Business Webinar hosted by the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning (DSDILGP) SEQ South Regional Office in partnership with the Department Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) will provide valuable information on Queensland Government grants, programs and support to help your business grow and succeed.

In the 45 minute session Queensland businesses will understand:

• How DESBT helps small businesses to start, grow and employ through grants and programs.

• Support services for Queensland employers to hire jobseekers and manage their growing workforce.

• Overview of Funded programs that are available to help employees acquire qualifications, knowledge and skills.

• How DSDILGP can help your business.

Jobs Queensland is inviting small businesses across the state to participate in an online webinar event to learn and gain skills in workforce planning.

These webinars will showcase the benefits of workforce planning for small and medium-sized enterprises. Effective workforce planning is crucial for businesses seeking to overcome economic and labour market challenges. Participants will be introduced to Jobs Queensland's Workforce Planning Connect toolkit and workbook, which offer tangible support to undertake a workforce planning process.
