SandTunes Festival Moved from Coolangatta to Carrara

The two-day SandTunes Music Festival previously slated for Coolangatta Beach later this year has been moved to Metricon Stadium in Carrara following talks between the State Government and the promoter, TEG Dainty.

CEO of Connecting Southern Gold Coast, Josh Martin, said while the Southern Gold Coast will no longer host the event, it was still a win for the city.

“We support more major events being held on the Southern Gold Coast, however there were numerous concerns raised by stakeholders about the impact of SandTunes to the Coolangatta environment, businesses and community,” said Mr Martin.

“Thankfully the Gold Coast will still reap the economic benefits of this festival and will no doubt deliver an exceptional experience to festival-goers visiting the city.”

SandTunes will be held on November 30 and December 1, 2019.
